LINN-FishFarmer is an industry-specific management software for aquaculture facilities – primarily for the professional operator.
Such a complex software solution, which can be adapted to any operation, was probably not yet available on the European market!
The algorithmic methods are adapted to salmonids. Application for other species is of course possible, all stored data/tables and
individual settings can be changed and adjusted by the user.
The most important aspect is the detailed and traceable management of all fish stocks of an aquaculture or fish farm. A report is created for each tank,
which completely records all processes such as feeding, growth, removal or medication. When yielding the fish, this report can be
archived and thus remains available for later evaluations. Feeding control is the second major component of the program.
Each stock (pond or channel) is provided with the optimum amount of feed depending on temperature, growth target and oxygen saturation.
In combination with an automatic feeding system, an economical and powerful overall solution is created – for manual feeding, the software offers
all the information needed to perform manual feeding in the best possible way from the above-mentioned points of view.
LINN-FishFarmer supports the communication with our proven monitoring and surveillance system Aqua-Control
and also has a connection to the central feeding systems. The interface intersecting with AQUA-Control works in both directions.
In this way, current temperature and oxygen values can always be read in, but also the oxygen input can be increased specifically before planned feedings.
The optionally available Aqua-Control feeding control (for automatic feeding or manual feeding) is then
replaced by the much more powerful functions of FishFarmer. Numerous properties are assigned to each fish stock in a well-arranged input mask.
In addition to purely informative data (such as species and sex), further parameters for feeding can be set.
Thus, there are characteristic curves for temperature dependence (specific to the fish species), daily requirements, expected feed ratios, and much more.
The daily feed ration can be divided into up to 20 individual portions, and recurring feeding-free days are also possible.
The slaughter maturity (date for desired target weight) can be calculated based on the current settings, the adjustment of the growth rate then leads to
to fish produced on schedule. Since the water temperature plays a crucial role, a characteristic curve with monthly average values can be
used as a basis. All characteristic curves are already incorporated in the software, but can be individually adapted to the conditions of your own plant.
The fish stock can be subject to gradual losses, so the number of pieces is automatically reduced once a day. Stocking densities are determined,
and exceeding limits generates appropriate warnings. The growth of the fish requires an adjustment of the feed pellet size.
FishFarmer conveniently takes care of this task for you. Feeding schedules can be stored, which contain a mix of two types of food assigned to a
fish weight. During transition phases, for instance, at 100 g fish weight, feed 1 is then reduced from 100% to 67% and feed 2 is added at 33%.
From 110g, a further change to 33% to 67% would then be conceivable, in order to finally feed only feed 2 from 120g and above.
This allows the fish to become accustomed to the new size.
All automated and, with appropriate data input, manual activities are combined in one report.
Based on this data, FishFarmer can perform evaluations.
The actual feed ratio calculated in this way can then lead to optimized feeding for the next generation of fish.
However, meaningful results are only possible if the actual fish weight in the tank is regularly determined, compared and entered as a correction in the software.
Another function is the growth planning. Here, the growth of the fish can be predicted with different pre-sets.
The determined optimal growth factor is then set in the feeding mask and leads to precisely produced fish with the desired weight.
